Creating a Safe and Comfortable Living Environment for WVO Zorg

WVO Zorg is a healthcare organization in Zeeland offering care centers, home care, and a wide range of health and wellness services. Spread across Vlissingen, Middelburg, and Oost-Souburg, WVO Zorg manages 5 nursing homes, 7 care centers, and 1 healthcare center, with 1,500 employees and 800 volunteers delivering the best care for more than 2,800 clients daily. Their services range from household assistance to day programs, rehabilitation, grocery services, courses, and excursions.

“We aim to keep all our locations in perfect condition, from rental apartments to shared living rooms where clients meet. The overall appearance, both inside and outside, greatly influences the creation of a pleasant living environment for our clients,” says Bart-Jan Leijnse, Head of Technical Services at WVO Zorg.

Working According to the Planetree Philosophy

“This philosophy aligns with our organization’s DNA. It guides our daily operations, including how we approach access and safety,” Bart-Jan adds.

Standardizing Access Control and Security

WVO Zorg has partnered with Nsecure for nearly a decade.
“Our collaboration began when a new location required access control. At the time, other locations relied on keys and codes, which offered limited control. Keys could be lost or stolen, posing significant risks. We needed a uniform approach to improve safety and control,” Bart-Jan explains.

Together with Nsecure, WVO Zorg implemented the AEOS access control system for the new location. Over time, this solution was rolled out to all locations’ external perimeters and equipped with camera surveillance. This standardized approach allows:

• Individual or group-based access assignments,
• Controlled and manageable access to specific locations and spaces.

Integrating AEOS Access Control with Key Cabinets

For sensitive areas, such as medication storage, keys remain in use but are managed through integrated key cabinets connected to the AEOS system.

“This integration allows us to manage and monitor access from a single platform, simplifying daily operations while ensuring compliance with regulations regarding medication storage and management,” says Bart-Jan.
